Southern Oregon Aspire Needs YOUR help!
We are currently in the middle of major renovation projects for our residential homes and multi-unit complex, Midstep. Aspire received a $20,000 grant award from the Four Way Foundation for part of the Midstep renovations but additional funding is needed to finish these projects before the year is over. We invite YOU to make a difference and help more individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We need to raise additional $35,000 to complete our renovation needs for 2019. Give a gift today and create unlimited opportunities for people to Work, Live and Thrive in the community.

Message from our CEO, Deb Saunders
It was hot in the Day Supports room as 17 people swayed and jumped, shook their booties and raised their arms. We were dancing!
This was our first rehearsal for the dance we would be performing at the Boatnik parade. It had been a few years since I had danced (or worked up a sweat like this!) but I was motivated by the eagerness and exhilaration on the faces of the supported individuals surrounding me. As we danced to Justin Timberlake, I was struck with the notion of how similar we all were. We were using our bodies in joyful expression, we were having fun and in turn, we motivated each other. How often do we spend our days looking at our differences? How different would our lives be if instead we looked to find commonality?
Two weeks later, we lined up behind our float at the Boatnik parade. We had over 25 dancers- some with disabilities, some without; some were nearing retirement age and others were children. We had even more marching behind us- picking up the beat as our procession started out on 6th street. We were planning to only perform the actual dance once in front of the judges. But, without a word of agreement passing to one another, we ended up dancing the whole route of the parade.
For that hour we were all the same- we were all fabulous dancers!
